Dog Crate RV was created with a simple philosophy. RV ownership should be enjoyable, not stressful.

In 2020, I purchased a 30 foot Keystone fifth wheel for a one year job in western Massachusetts. I had never owned a fifth wheel before and quickly found myself learning the hard way. To make room for my dog Zeus and all of his gear, I removed the dinette, sofa, and reclining chairs. Once his bed, crate, and toys were on board, I stepped back and realized I now owned a 30 foot dog crate. The name stuck, and the joke followed me everywhere.

Not long after, the real lessons began.

About six months into living in the RV, I experienced electrical issues and water intrusion. I contacted two local RV technicians whose business cards were given to me at the campground office. One never responded. The other returned my call two weeks later to let me know he had moved his business out of state.

That experience was eye opening. RV owners were waiting too long for help, getting unclear answers, or feeling pressured into repairs they did not fully understand.

Instead of staying frustrated, I decided to learn how to fix RVs.

In September of 2021, during an online search of learning to fix RVs, I was led to the NRVTA in Athens, Texas. Within 24 hours, Zeus and I were enrolled in every course available and planning a winter trip to Texas.

By March of 2022, I had completed all NRVTA technician courses, including advanced solar and generator training, along with the RV inspector program. I became a certified RV technician and certified inspector and received my very first inspection call the same day I passed my exam. That was a good sign.

Dog Crate RV was officially built in 2021 to provide RV owners with something often missing in the industry. Prompt service, honest communication, and education first support from a technician who takes the time to explain what matters.

The name “Dog Crate RV” reflects a core belief; for many owners, their RV is a safe place not just for people, but for the pets who travel with them. With so many clients traveling alongside furry family members, safety, reliability, and preventative care are always a priority.
